Ocho, a new video app, launched Tuesday and announced $1.65 million in funding from Mark Cuban, Bill Lohse’s Social Starts and General Assembly co-founder Matt Brimer.
The app’s founders say they started with an idea of what YouTube would look like had it been designed for mobile and went from there. The app caps videos at 8 seconds and shows videos in a continuous stream. You can insert links in captions and display in a 16:9 format. And if you want to comment on something, you video reply instead of using text.
Right now, Vice Sports has signed on as a partner, planning to post exclusive video content daily. You can download Ocho for iOS now and an Android version is expected for 2015.
